Cherry Blossom Workshops- Central Park

Sunday, April 10, 2016.  10:30 am - 5:30 pm

Saturday, April 16, 2016.  10:30 am - 5:30 pm

After a long cold winter in New York there is nothing quite like the sight of Cherry Blossoms coming to life in Central Park.  The glorious pink blooms pitched against the lush Spring grass and blue sky make for an incredibly beautiful painting.  This subject allows participants to create a truly expressive painting.

* Suitable for beginners through to experienced painters.  Please read the 'program information' section below to get a further understanding of what you will experience during a workshop.

Below are a few photos of our previous Cherry Blossom Workshops, to give you and idea of the scenes that we paint in Central Park.  As the Cherry Blossoms bloom at slightly different times in different spots each year,  your exact painting location will be selected by Danielle the day before your workshop, in order to provide you with the location with the best blooms at that time.

Times Square Workshop

Sunday, April 17, 2016. 12:30 pm- 6:30 pm

The experience of painting in Times Square is something that you will never forget! In painting there alone you may otherwise feel a little intimidated, yet Danielle's workshops bring 8 painters together in a close knit group to take on the incredible energy of Times Square- and and face it with passion!  Danielle will paint with you, step by step, and show you how to tackle this spectacular scene with expressive energy.  As with all Plein Air Painting School workshops, beginners through to experienced painters may participate, as everyone is assisted at their own level of experience.

Please note:  This workshop features the afternoon light at Times Square and hence our 12:30 pm start time.  Below are a few photos from some of our previous Times Square Workshops.

Program Information

The Plein Air Painting School Workshops are suitable for all levels of painters. Your tutor Danielle paints in front of you through various stages of the painting while you paint with her. This approach enables both beginners and experienced painters to paint in the same class. After explaining each step Danielle then visits every participant to assist them at their individual level.

The One Day Workshop is designed to give participants the satisfaction of creating a complete, finished painting over the course of a day. You will learn every step in the process that a professional artist would use and hence come away with a wealth of information. It is a long day, yet an incredibly fulfilling one!
